Airsoft gun, like your other sports equipment, must be cleaned and cared for regularly. This is to maintain accuracy, reduce the risk of traffic jams when used, and to last long. Airsoft or any item will be damaged quickly if not treated. According to some website references, if the airsoft has exceeded 1000 BB shots it must be cleaned.
For AEG that can spend half a BB bag each carved, it may have to be cleaned after each play, especially on the barrel. While for GBB, the maximum is cleared after 3 times carved, or after each play.
The following is how to clean the airsoft gun easily, no need to be a tuner, no need to be an expert first to treat your airsoft gun at home.
Clean the outside
Prepare a fabric that is soft and not 'hairy', usually cotton cloth, do not wear a cloth that leaves fine 'hairs' when used to wipe airsoft. Special cleaning cloths can be purchased at equipment stores. Before on the lap, first remove the magazine, place the battery. For outside parts that are not covered by cloth, you can use cotton sticks.
Clean Magazine
1. Remove the magazine from the unit and clean it with a cleaning cloth that does not leave fine hair.
2. Use cotton buds to reach narrow areas.
3. Add silicon lubricants (puree) that do not contain petrol to moving parts.
4. Be careful there are several types of lubricants that contain petroleum / petrol because it can make the rubber part damaged. There are also several types of lubricants that can change the color of the polymer / ABS.
Clean the Barrel
1. When going to clean the barrel, the hop-up must be lowered, it can be spotted from the barrel hole if there is still hop-up rubber that sticks out which means it still hasn't dropped. This is to prevent the rubber hop-up from being torn when cleaned because it is exposed to a cleaning rod.
2. Prepare a cleaning rod, make sure it is clean of dust and install cotton / cleaning cloth.
3. Then put a little lubricant on the barrel, enter the cleaning rod and start cleaning the barrel.
4. Clean the barrel (inner barrel) with back and forth movements and rotate the cleaning rod.
5. Remove the cleaning rod after it feels clean enough, then replace it with a new cotton / cleaning cloth.
6. Repeat the process of cleaning the barrel 3-6 times depending on how much dirt is on the inner barrel. If I usually clean inbar after every play, so 3-4 times is also enough.
7. Clean the barrel is very important because hundreds / thousands of BBs come out of this inbar.
A little dirt, the accuracy of the shot will not be damaged and the inbar will be more quickly scratched / damaged.
The easiest parts to clean are only the outside of the unit, magazine and barrel. Inner parts such as gearboxes, dynamos, etc. require experience. If it's brave, you can unload yourself, try cleaning it yourself, but do it at your own risk,
